Be Seen. Be Heard.

Be Seen. Be Heard.

At the start of summer, I decided to take some time off from blogging, and give myself some  S P A C E.  I lost connection with my blog and was feeling conflicted on where to go with it. The “Nonlinear Path” brand + message needed a reboot, as I continue to grow and evolve.

Back in 2011, I took an online marketing course, and ever since then, I’ve noticed more and more online marketing courses popping up everywhere, with similar headlines. They had the same flavour: how to generate 6 figures in 6 months online, and showcased testimonials of all the success stories of people who followed a proven “blueprint” to make it work.

Groan. After watching the internet marketing world for the past 6 years, I call this type of marketing “bait marketing”, and at times, I even got sucked in. It’s inauthentic, catches those who are just starting out but want to see results, and gives many new entrepreneurs the feeling of not being good enough when they don’t make “6 figures in 6 months!”.

I share this because after investing in marketing courses and working with different coaches, I was feeling pressure to make my blog be a “sales funnel”, and having an “ideal customer avatar” and targeting my writing to my “ideal customer”. I wasn’t sure how to navigate it because none of that ever resonated with me.

I want my blog to be a place for me to show up and write authentically. I don’t always have problems to solve or wish to write “how to” posts (I’m not against it. Once in awhile is okay, but I don’t want to be a ‘how to’ blog).  I want my stories, reflections, lessons and experiences to build trust and relationships. If people like me enough, perhaps they’ll be interested in what I have to offer.

But, according to the professional online marketers, no one really cares about my blog unless it solves a problem, and targets the people I can help.

There’s definitely wisdom in that, but I personally prefer a more feminine, relationship-based way to grow SLC angel wingsmy business, using my online presence as a messaging platform, versus a marketing one. (Thank you @wildplayground for that perspective!)

This switch in perspective is a total game changer for me, and has reminded me why I started The Nonlinear Path in the first place.  It as a way to connect more deeply with my voice, and build a relationship with those who want to connect with me.

My blog is my home-base online. It’s a medium where I get to create and grow. That’s important to me versus using my blog as a marketing platform to generate a massive subscriber list.

And yes, I trust it is possible to create an abundant online business by showing up authentically, building relationships, and offerings programs + services that align with what others are seeking.

So, I’m happy to report that after a 3 month hiatus, I’m BACK!

There will be changes to my website, branding and messaging overtime. But for now, I’ll continue to share my voice and invite you to join me in what I’m up to and what I’m passionate about.

Speaking of which, I’ve been up to a lot!

Two of which, may be very relevant for you: WomanSpeak Circle in Seattle (this is what inspired this post’s blog title), and Self-Care Social – FB Live.

I invite you to explore them below 😉

With gratitude + lots of love,

WomanSpeak in Seattle

WomanSpeak

BE SEEN. BE HEARD.

Begins November 7th, 2017

When the opportunity to participate as a beta WomanSpeak Circle leader led by KC Baker, came up last year, I jumped at the chance. My vision has always been around guiding women to embody their self-worth. Becoming a WomanSpeak Circle leader aligned perfectly with that vision.

WomanSpeak offers techniques to transform fear or self-doubt about public speaking into ease and authentic confidence. We’ll learn how to speak on panels, tell spellbinding stories, and how to speak confidently in front of anyone.

This is a great opportunity to build community in a safe and supportive space where every single woman’s voice will be celebrated.

The best part is, when a woman invests in the WomanSpeak program, a portion of her initiation fee will go towards funding a young girl to go through GirlSpeak for free!

If you’re a woman wishing to share your voice and be heard, either on stage or off stage, and live in the Seattle area, I invite you to check out WomanSpeak Circle. I’m hosting 2 Intro Nights this month (October)  in the Seattle area so you can experience what it’s all about.

Information on Intro Night:

For details + registration for intro night*, click HERE.

*Note: on the registration page, there is no way to select which date to attend. But after registration, I’ll send you a separate email to confirm your desired date, and send along more info.

What I love about WomanSpeak is that it goes beyond speaking. It’s truly a shift in paradigm in how we all celebrate each other, our presence, and our voices.

Come join me!

Psst…Will you also share this with other women who you think will love this opportunity?

If you have any Qs, please feel free to email me :)

P.S. If you’re not in the Seattle area, there may be a WomanSpeak Circle in your local community (check here). If there’s not, you may want to consider becoming a leader and hosting these bi-monthly circles (click here). If you do go this route, which I would encourage, please let them know I referred you! :)
